What to have in place before you upload data with Validis Connect
To upload data to Validis you need to be invited to join an engagement, and you need access to the data you want to upload. You will receive an invitation by email. Before you upload anything, accept the invitation and complete the Validis signup process.
Once you are part of an engagement, check the points below.
Your computer
- You can install software on your desktop machine. Validis Connect installs temporarily while it runs.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or above is installed. You can download the .NET Framework runtime from dotnet.microsoft.com/download. If you do not have version 4.8 or above, you may be prompted to upgrade.
Your accounting package
- The package is installed correctly and has a valid license file.
- The package is compatible with Validis.
- You can open the data you want to upload inside the accounting package. The company data file must have been opened at least once.
- You have read access to the company data.
- The accounting package reports no errors when you view the company data.
- You know the sign in details for the company file, or for the database where the company data is held.
Validis uses your local accounting package to see which data is available, and may use parts of the package itself to reach that data. Without a correct install, or the sign in details, Validis cannot access it.
If your data is held in a separate SQL database
For Sage 200, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics Navision and similar packages, the company data sits in its own SQL database. You need an account that can read the data from that database.
If your accounting package runs on a virtual or separate machine
For Sage 50, QuickBooks Desktop and similar packages, the accounting package often runs on a virtual or separate machine. That machine needs both a browser and an internet connection for the upload to complete.
