What is a Backup?

There may be rare occasions where you are unable to upload your data using the DataShare Connect extraction application. In such cases the DataShare Support team may ask you to supply a backup of your accounting package application file.

The DataShare Backup function allows you to securely transmit your accounting package data file to the DataShare Support team.

The Backup function should only be used as a last resort when all attempts to upload data using the DataShare Connect application have failed. Processing times for backups vary but in general they will be much slower than an automated upload due to the manual intervention required.
