Validis Excel Add-In

Overview

The Validis Excel Add-in allows you to connect directly to your Validis portal from within Microsoft Excel, enabling you to retrieve engagement data and build custom reporting templates using Validis formulas.

This guide is intended for existing Validis customers working in financial sectors such as lending and auditing.

How it works: Build a reusable reporting template using Validis formulas, then select an engagement through the task pane to populate the template with that engagement's data.

Getting Started

Install the Validis Add-In to Excel

  1. Open Microsoft Excel and go to the Home tab.
  2. Click Get Add-ins (or Office Add-ins).
  3. Search for Validis in the Office Add-ins store.
  4. Click Add to install the add-in.
  5. Once installed, click the Validis add-in 
  6. The task pane will appear. 

Log In

You will be prompted to enter the URL of your organisation's Validis portal to connect. 

For example: (datashare-support.us.validis.com)

 

You can find this in your browser's address bar on any page in the portal.

Once your portal URL is confirmed, log in using your existing Validis credentials. This is the same username and password you use to access the Validis web portal.

 

Important: You must have accepted the Validis End User Terms on your portal before you can log in via the add-in. If you have not yet accepted the terms, you will see an error message. Log in to the Validis web portal first to accept the terms, then return to the add-in. Also, only URLs associated with existing Validis portals are compatible with the Excel Add-In. 

 

Selecting an Engagement

After successfully logging in, the task pane will display a list of all engagements you have access to.

To load data for an engagement:

  1. Browse or search for the engagement from the drop-down menu.
  2. Click on the engagement to select it.
  3. The add-in will retrieve the data for that engagement and populate your existing formulas.
