Sharing your Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT data

How to securely share your Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT data with Validis

Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT connects to Validis through an app you install from the Blackbaud Marketplace, so there is nothing to download onto your computer. Installing the app is a one time job. After that, you start each share from your engagement in the Validis portal.

Please note

Whoever runs the upload must be a Marketplace Admin in Blackbaud. If you need that role assigned, Blackbaud's Permissions to connect applications guide explains how.

Before you start

Check these things before you begin. Sorting them out now avoids getting interrupted partway through the upload.

  • Make sure you're online. Your data is sent while the process runs, so a stable internet connection is needed throughout.
  • Have a valid Blackbaud installation, and be able to reach the company data you want to share.
  • Have the Validis app installed from the Blackbaud Marketplace. The next section covers this if you haven't done it yet.

Installing the Validis app in Blackbaud Marketplace

Step 1

Open the Validis app listing

Sign in to Blackbaud, then open the Blackbaud Validis App listing in the Marketplace.

 

 

Step 2

Install the app

Select Get Started, then follow the on-screen instructions to install the app. Once it is installed, you are ready to upload.

Uploading your Blackbaud data

Step 3

Get started with your engagement

Log in to the Validis portal, select the relevant Engagement, then select Share Data Now.

Step 4

Choose your accounting package

Select Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT from the list of accounting packages, then select Next.

Step 5

Sign in to Blackbaud

You are redirected to Blackbaud to authenticate. Enter your user credentials to complete the sign-in.

 

Step 6

Authorise the upload

When prompted, select Authorise to start the upload. You are then taken back to your Validis engagement.

After you've shared your data

Your data now queues for processing in the Validis central system. You can carry on with other work on your computer while it runs.

You can track progress in the Validis portal, where the status moves from Loading to Processing to Completed. You may need to refresh your browser to see updates.
