Validis Connect for Sage 50 Canada (Simply)
Once installed, the Validis Connect application will automatically launch and ask you to locate the Sage 50 Canada (Simply) data set that you wish to share.
You must first specify the SAJ Directory. This is the location where the company data is held on your workstation. Click the Browse button.
A Windows file browser window will appear. Navigate to the required SAJ folder, highlight it, and click Select Folder to choose this SAJ directory.
There may be many different SAJ folders on your workstation, ensure you select the correct one.
Next, enter the User Name and Password for the chosen SAJ folder. This username and password will be the same as the username and password you use to log in to Sage 50 Canada (Simply) unless your IT department has told you to use a different set of details.
The default User Name for Sage 50 Canada (Simply) set by Sage is "sysadmin" with no quotes and the password is normally set to blank (e.g. no password).
Once you have entered your User Name and Password click Next to proceed.
Validis Connect will now attempt to connect to the data set held within the SAJ directory you chose earlier using the User Name and Password you supplied. If any of these details are incorrect an error will be displayed and you will be invited to re-enter the correct details.
If the access details supplied are correct the Validis Connect data extraction process will begin and progress will be displayed on the screen. Depending on the size of your database and the number of entries it contains this process may take a few minutes.
Once all data has been extracted the data is compressed, encrypted, and transmitted securely to the Validis central server.
You can continue with other tasks while the extraction takes place. Please don't close the Validis Connect window or interrupt the extraction process.
When the share completes the success message is presented.
Click Close to exit. At this point, there is nothing more to do. Your Engagement Manager or Client Manager will be notified by email that you have submitted a new share.
Your shared data is now being queued for processing in the Validis central system. You can switch off your desktop and disconnect from the network if you wish.
You can view the progress of your share in the Validis Portal (to see the current status you may need to refresh your browser). The status will change from Processing to Completed.
