FreeAgent for Validis
- You are online and connected to the internet.
- You have an FreeAgent Account and you can access the data you wish to share.
- You have a Admin account type or an account that can set up or disconnect connected apps.
- You know the User ID and Password for your FreeAgent account.
You may need to ask your IT department for some of the above information.
When sharing your data from a Cloud Accounting Package, such as FreeAgent, Validis does not need to use the Validis Connect component to perform an extract. This means you can start a Cloud Accounting Package share from any machine with a supported web browser.
Your browser window will be redirected to the FreeAgent authentication page and connect securely. You will be asked to enter your login details for FreeAgent.
The login screen has the FreeAgnet logo at the top and a description of the application that is asking for your accounting data. In this example the requester is Validis; so you can be sure this is a legitimate and secure request to connect to your data.
First, sign in to your Validis portal.
Select the Engagement you want to upload data for.
Click the Upload button. This will present a list of accounting packages.
Type FreeAgent into the free text box and select "FreeAgent Cloud" then click next.
Enter your FreeAgent details and click "login"
Click "Approve"
You will then be redirected back to the Validis portal, where you can view your upload status
The upload has now completed
