Sharing your MS Dynamics Finance & Operations (F&O) data

Overview

Before attempting to share your data using Validis, please ensure the following:

  • You are online and connected to the internet.
  • You have a Dynamics F&O Administrator Account and can access the company you wish to share.
  • You know the User ID and Password for your F&O admin account.

 

Required Permissions

The user performing the upload must have both the System Administrator and System User roles assigned in Dynamics. If either role is missing, the upload will fail.

To check a user's role, first sign in to Dynamics F&O. Then navigate to System Administration > Users.

 

Search for the user and click Edit. 

 

Sharing your Finance & Operations data

Once signed into the portal, you'll see your assigned engagements. Click Share Data Now to continue.

 

Select Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations when prompted to choose an accounting package.

 
 
Next, you will enter the Dynamics Finance Base URL.

E.g., If the URL where you use Dynamics is “https://xxxx.cloudax.eu.dynamics.com/?cmp=dat&mi=DefaultDashboard” then the section to use would be xxxx.cloudax.eu

Click “Next”

Authenticate to your Microsoft account if prompted to do so

You may require Approval from your Cloud Application Administrator to do the first upload to allow Validis Dynamics 365 Finance to access Dynamics. (This screen will say “Approval Required”). Alternatively, your Cloud Application Administrator (or user with higher permissions) can perform this upload process for the first upload and accept the access request.

After you have signed in and approval is completed, select the company you wish to upload from the dropdown list.

Click Next, and your upload will begin. You will receive email notifications when the upload is complete.
