What the standard reporting packs are and how to generate them
Validis provides a standard set of reports that can be generated and downloaded into Excel. You will find them on the Exports page, under the Standard Reporting Packs tab.
What is available
There are two standard reporting packs:
| Pack | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Working Papers | A .zip file containing a separate Excel report for each area of the engagement, covering financial reports, cash, receivables, payables, inventory, investments, property, equity, tax, and more. |
| General Ledger Report | Account movement detail, showing the opening balance, all debit and credit activity within the account, and the closing balance. |
For the full list of what the Working Papers pack contains, see Generating the Working Papers Reporting Pack.
Generating a pack
Each pack works the same way. Select the pack to expand it, choose the period you want from the dropdown, then select Generate.
A Download in progress message confirms the pack is being prepared and will download automatically when it is ready. You can close that message; it will not affect the download. If your browser asks whether to allow multiple file downloads, select Allow.
Downloading a pack again later
Every pack you generate is listed underneath, with its Year, Period, and Generation Date. In the Actions column, you can download that pack again, or regenerate it if the underlying data has changed.
Previously generated packs stay listed, with download and regenerate options.
Because the list is kept against the engagement, anyone else working on it can download a pack you have already generated, rather than generating it again.
The other tabs on this page
Extracts holds the raw data extracts, ready to download. These are already generated, so there is nothing to run; just select the download icon next to the one you want.
- General Ledger Extract
- Accounts Receivable Extract
- Accounts Payable Extract
The Extracts tab, with each extract ready to download.
See Downloading the Extract Reports.
Custom Reporting Packs holds any packs set up specifically for your organisation. If none have been created yet, the tab will tell you to speak to your administrator.
