This will start the download of the Validis Connect application. Your browser will show the download progress. Depending on your desktop setup you may encounter some security warnings you need to acknowledge during the installation.
Click Install to continue. Please note the below URL may differ from yours based on your region.
The application will now connect to your Accounting Package, the app is quite small and will be automatically removed from your desktop after completing the share process.
Validis Connect for QuickBooks Desktop
Once installed, the application will automatically launch and attempt to locate your QuickBooks Desktop installation. It will then determine the company files available for share. If you only have one version of QuickBooks Desktop installed, you will be presented with a login screen.
If multiple versions are installed, you will be presented with a drop-down menu containing all available options. Please choose the appropriate version that holds your company data and click Next.
Please select the Database file for share from the drop-down menu. The Database file would be the QuickBooks company where your data is stored.
Enter the Username and Password for the chosen QuickBooks Desktop database file and click Next.
This username and password will be your credentials to log in to QuickBooks Desktop unless your IT team has provided a different login.
If your file is not in the drop-down list, open it on QuickBooks to ensure your access is set up. Then close the file on QuickBooks, and begin a new share.
It is possible to have a different username and password for each database file in your QuickBooks installation so ensure you choose the correct Username and Password combination.
The default Username for QuickBooks Desktop set by Intuit is normally "Admin" with no quotes and the password is normally set to blank (e.g. no password).
Validis Connect will now attempt to connect to the database file. If the credentials provided are correct, the data extraction process will begin and progress will be displayed on the screen.
If either of these details are incorrect, an error will be displayed and you will be invited to re-enter the correct details.
Depending on the size of your database and the volume of entries it contains this process may take a few minutes. Once all data has been extracted the data is compressed, encrypted, and transmitted securely to the Validis central server.
You can continue with other tasks while the extraction takes place.
Do not close the Validis Connect window or interrupt the extraction process.
When the share completes the success message is presented. Click Close to exit.
At this point, there is nothing more to do. Your Engagement Manager or Client Manager will be notified by email that you have submitted a new share.
Your shared data is now being queued for processing in the Validis central system. You can switch off your desktop and disconnect from the network at this point if you wish.
You can view the progress of your share in the Validis Portal - You may need to refresh your browser. The status will change from Processing to Completed.
