Prerequisites
- Dynamics 365 account with Extension Management permissions
- The user must have the Cloud Application Administrator role in their Microsoft tenant. You may need to speak to your IT department about this. (See Microsoft documentation here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/enterprise-apps/grant-admin-consent?pivots=portal)
If this is the first time using the MS Dynamics 365 Business Central connector, the extension must be installed so Validis can temporarily access and extract the data.
N.B. After setup, standard permissions are sufficient for users to continue uploading their data.
Installing the Validis Extension
To begin, sign in to your Dynamics 365 dashboard to select the company and environment where you would like to share.
Using the search function in the toolbar, search for and open Extension Management.
Next, you can open the AppSource Gallery to browse the available applications.
Search for Validis and then click Get it now to begin the installation.
You will see a pop-up asking you to confirm the installation. Select Get it now to continue installing the Validis extension.
This will take a brief moment, and you can check the progress in the Installation status menu. A successful extension deployment will have the status value: Completed
After the extension install completes, you can sign into the portal to share your data. Please use the following guide for help with the upload process.
