How to resolve "Bad Input Error" (incorrect file type)

Cause

The Upload & Share process only accepts file extensions in lowercase. If your file has an uppercase extension (e.g., Report.XLSX), you will receive a Bad Input error. 

Also, ensure the file name itself does not contain special characters or spaces that may cause upload issues.

 

Fix

Rename the file so the extension is in lowercase:

  • Change Report.XLSX → Report.xlsx
  • Change Data.CSV → Data.csv
  • Change File.XLS → File.xls

 

Steps to Resolve

  1. Locate the file you are trying to upload.
  2. Right-click the file and select Rename.
  3. Change the file extension to lowercase:
    • Example: Report.XLSX → Report.xlsx
  4. Press Enter to save the changes.
  5. Retry the Upload & Share process.
