Locating the Email Settings
Users with appropriate permissions can customize the emails that are sent by Validis.
The Validis email defaults are used for all new Validis Clients.
To access the Email settings, select your user account at the top right-hand side and click on Settings.
Under Portal Settings, select the Emails option to view the list of notification templates that are used to create the emails sent by Validis.
Each notification template can be previewed and edited individually.
Previewing the Email
Clicking on the preview symbol will display how the notification will look when created by Validis.
The notifications include special variable fields that are substituted with real data when the notification is created by Validis when needed. In the example, below you will see the variables ${user.firstName} ${user.lastName} are used to populate the first and last names of the user who will receive the notification. By using the variable fields available you can construct complex and personalized notifications.
Using the Email Template Editor
Clicking on the edit symbol will display the notification builder that will allow you to enter new text for the notification and incorporate Validis variable fields and special formatting using the notification editor.
The notification editor is shown at the top of the screen with a live preview of how the notification will be displayed to the user shown at the bottom of the screen.
You can edit the notification and change formats using the format bar shown in the ribbon at the top of the editor screen. (Note the editor ribbon is not shown when editing an email Subject template, all subject fields use plain text).
When you have finished editing be sure to click 'SAVE' to ensure your changes are saved.
