Using Validis with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot)
Validis can be connected to AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot so you can ask questions about your engagement data in everyday language. Instead of opening Validis and navigating to a report, you can ask your AI tool things like "what's the trial balance for [client] this quarter?" and get an answer in seconds.
What you can do with it
Once connected, you can ask your AI tool to:
List the engagements you have access to
Run financial analytics (working capital, ratios, ageing analysis, fraud indicators, and more)
Generate trial balances and other working papers
Sample transactions from the General Ledger, Receivables, or Payables
The AI tool only sees engagements you already have permission to see in Validis. Nothing is exposed beyond your normal access.
What it doesn't do
It can't change or write data back to Validis. All actions are read-only.
It doesn't replace the Validis portal. You'll still log in to Validis for uploads and configuration.
Connecting
Your IT or workspace administrator needs to enable the Validis connector in your AI tool first. Once they have, connecting takes a minute:
Open your AI tool.
Find Validis in the list of available connectors and select Connect.
Sign in with your usual Validis credentials when prompted.
Authorise the AI tool to access your Validis data.
That's it. You can disconnect at any time from your AI tool's connector settings.
Example questions to try
"List my Validis engagements."
"What's the trial balance for [engagement] as of [date]?"
"Run a working capital analysis on [engagement]."
"Show me the largest customers by outstanding receivables for [engagement]."
"Are there any unusual liability fluctuations over the last 12 months?"
If something isn't working
You can't see Validis in the connector list. Your workspace administrator needs to enable the connector first.
You're being asked to sign in again. For security, the session times out after a period of inactivity. Just sign in again.
The AI tool says it can't find your engagement. Check that the engagement is shared with your Validis account in the usual way.
Results don't match what you see in Validis. Contact your usual Validis support channel so we can take a look.
Privacy
Your Validis credentials are never shared with the AI tool. You sign in directly with Validis through a secure OAuth flow.
